Local First: Your data stays on your device whenever possible
Minimal Collection: We only collect what's necessary for the app to function
No Tracking: We don't track your usage or sell your data
Your Control: You can delete all your data at any time

Information We Collect

1. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

2. Information Processed Through the App

When you use AgentTip, the following information is processed:

Text Input: The text you type when using trigger phrases
Selected Text: Any text you highlight before invoking an assistant
Assistant Responses: Responses generated by OpenAI's API

Important: This information is sent directly to OpenAI's API using your API key. We do not store, log, or have access to this data.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
Usage analytics or telemetry data
Keyboard input outside of trigger activation
Screen contents or screenshots
Browsing history or app usage patterns
Location data
Device identifiers for tracking

How We Use Your Information

The information collected by AgentTip is used exclusively to:

Enable the core functionality of invoking AI assistants
Maintain your assistant configurations and preferences
Provide debugging information if you encounter issues
Remember your app settings between sessions

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Security

API Keys: Stored in macOS Keychain with encryption
App Data: Protected by macOS app sandboxing
No Cloud Storage: We don't upload or sync your data to any servers

Data Transmission

AgentTip only transmits data in the following scenarios:

To OpenAI: Your prompts and API key when using assistants
Encrypted: All communication with OpenAI uses HTTPS encryption
Direct Connection: No intermediary servers or proxies

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

AgentTip integrates with OpenAI's API. When you use AgentTip:

Your prompts are sent directly to OpenAI using your API key
OpenAI's Privacy Policy governs their handling of your data
We recommend reviewing OpenAI's Privacy Policy

No Other Third Parties

AgentTip does not integrate with any other third-party services, analytics tools, or advertising networks.

Your Rights and Control

Access and Portability

All your data is stored locally and accessible through the app
You can export your assistant configurations at any time
Chat history can be copied or saved as needed

Deletion

You can delete your data at any time by:

Using the "Reset All Data" button in Settings
Removing individual assistant configurations
Deleting the app, which removes all associated data
Manually removing the API key from Keychain

Opt-Out

Since we don't collect analytics or tracking data, there's nothing to opt out of. You have full control over what data is stored locally.

Data Retention

Local Data: Retained indefinitely until you delete it
No Server Storage: We don't store any of your data on our servers
OpenAI Data: Subject to OpenAI's retention policies

Children's Privacy

AgentTip is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app requires an OpenAI API key, which has its own age restrictions.

Accessibility Permissions

AgentTip requires Accessibility permissions to:

Monitor for trigger phrases in text fields
Replace trigger phrases with AI responses
Read selected text for context

Important: We only monitor text when you type a registered trigger phrase. We do not log or store general keyboard input.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Providing notice within the app for significant changes

Data Protection Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your data:
